Discovering Reservoir Management Criteria: the Case Study of Pozzillo Reservoir

چکیده
An integrated Rough Set approach is proposed to discover the historical operation rules of irrigation purpose reservoirs. Operation rules are derived by expressing monthly releases as functions of reservoir stored volume, inflow and outflow. This is accomplished through the Rough Set approach and the use of performance indices able to recognize the effective rules used in water supply management. This approach represents a new mathematical tool quite different to classical fuzzy rule-based systems in the decision rules induction. Results show that the integrated Rough Set approach allows to individuate with acceptable reliability the real criteria used for the system management. Copyright c ©2005

Technical and economic evaluations in an oil field means that by different technologies and correct planning, maximize the amount of extraction of hydrocarbons and minimize risks and costs. The current research includes technical evaluation and economic analysis on one of the undeveloped reservoirs in the southwest of Iran. The amount of recoverable hydrocarbon was estimated using the Monte Car...
متن کاملRESERVOIR OPERATION OPTIMIZATION USING CBO, ECBO AND VPS ALGORITHMS
This paper utilizes the Colliding Bodies of Optimization (CBO), Enhanced Colliding Bodies of Optimization (ECBO) and Vibrating Particles System (VPS) algorithms to optimize the reservoir system operation. CBO is based on physics equations governing the one-dimensional collisions between bodies, with each agent solution being considered as an object or body with mass and ECBO utilizes memory to ...
متن کاملReservoir Operation During Droughts
Drought is an inevitable part of the world’s climate. It occurs in wet as well as in dry regions. Therefore, planning for drought and mitigating its impacts is essential. In this study, a hedging rule is developed using the zero/one mixed integer-programming approach. Furthermore, some procedures are introduced to ease the computational burden inherent in integer programming. Hedging rules are ...
